On December 13, 2018, TDCJ put out their once every 10 years RFP for comprehensive substance abuse treatment services. This is a big opportunity to bring some capacity and resources into Austin. They are looking for residential and outpatient treatment providers. This is basically and 8-10 year contract with TDCJ and they will keep your facility full. This application is due 1/25/2019. As a side note: If you are wanting/considering applying for residential contract, you are required to have a public hearing and you have to post your public hearing 30 days before the hearing in 3 local newspapers. So I would have that hearing around 1/20 and get it in the newspaper early next week.
