Now Hiring – PRN Sobering Support Specialist

Position: PRN and Full Time

PRN shifts could be M-Thurs 6am-3pm, 2pm-11pm, 10p-7am; Friday, Sat or Sun 7a-7p or 7p-7a.

Reports to: Program Manager

Job Summary:The Sobering Support Specialist (SSS) will provide recovery support services and assistance to clients in the facility. The position requires the SSS staff to participate in client care during the client’s stay and continuum of care post discharge.

Summary Specific to Job:

  • Provide ongoing support to all clients during intake, admission, and throughout their stay including discharge.
  • Monitor clients at all times while using the language of hope and possibility.
  • Assist in de-escalating individuals during intake and throughout their stay.
  • Responsible for securing client property to be returned at discharge.
  • Motivate a client toward change and help develop connections in the community.
  • Focus on a person’s strengths and attend to the overall health and wellness of a client with mental health issues or addiction.
  • Provide referrals as needed.
  • Support client’s decision for treatment and services.
  • Provide follow-up telephone calls as a continuum of care.
  • Clean sobering area, bathrooms, break rooms etc.- when necessary participate in doing laundry.
  • Maintain documentation of charts associated with SSS responsibilities.
  • Maintain communication with intake staff and shift lead.
  • Able to represent the center reflecting a professional image.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Attend all meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Adapt to changing work requirements.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Now Hiring – PRN Paramedic

Position: PRN PRN Paramedic

Reports to: Paramedic Manager

Job Summary: The Paramedic will ensure that all incoming clients are stable and able to remain at The Sobering Center. This position may also be tasked with other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Summary Specific to Job:

  • Conduct intake screening inclusive of taking brief medical history, vital signs, blood alcohol concentration, urine drug screen and blood glucose levels, etc.
  • Complete all intake documents in accordance with agency policy and procedures.
  • Provide exit screening for client discharge as needed.
  • Aid Sobering Support Specialist.
  • Assess and monitor client’s medical condition/vital signs in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
  • Provide minor first aid care.
  • Facilitate transport of clients in need of additional medical services in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
  • Ensure equipment/tools are functioning properly to provide client care.
  • Function within the scope of care defined by this facility, along with state regional, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Attend continuing education and refresher training programs as required by the facility.
  • Document and inform staff and emergency response teams of observations pertinent to client care.
  • Attend all meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Adapt to changing work requirements.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
  • Available to work all shifts and weekends.

Experience:

  • EMS: 2 years (Required)

Education:

  • High School or equivalent (Required)

License:

  • Driver’s License (Required)
  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • EMT Paramedic (Required)

Now Hiring — SBIRT Counselor

Position: SBIRT Counselor

Reports to: Program Manager

Job Type: Full-time — Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 7pm-7am

Job Summary: SBIRT refers to Screening, Recovery Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment. It is an evidenced-based practice used to identify, reduce & prevent problematic alcohol & drug use.

Summary Specific to Job:

  • Conducts substance use assessment on clients discharging from the Sobering Center.
  • Develops care and recovery plan for persons who request assistance.
  • Provide education and brief intervention to individuals with identified need using motivational interviewing techniques to facilitate engagement in SUD related services.
  • Make appropriate treatment and service referrals for individuals with high risk alcohol and/or drug use.
  • Coordinate with area service providers to assist persons identified with High Risk Substance Use to gain access to substance use treatment services
  • Collect and enter customer information in customer database (Electronic Service Record)
  • Liaise with local mental health and homeless service team around service coordination.
  • Attend all meetings and trainings as requested.
  • Provide SBIRT at community and mobile service sites during designated entertainment, events, and conferences.
  • Adapt to changing work requirements.
  • Available to work all shifts and weekends.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology Preferred.
  • LCDC, LMSW, CARN, LCDC-I or LPC-Intern.
  • 2+ years of experience in substance abuse and/or mental health services preferred
  • Emergency Room or Healthcare Setting Experience Preferred.
  • SBIRT Training and Experience Preferred.
