The Sobering Center Contributes to a Safe Community

Founded in 2018, The Sobering Center was built with the intent of providing the community with a safe place to recover from intoxication in lieu of jail or the emergency room and to then be referred to community based resources as needed. Today we have provided this service to over 14,000 individuals. The Sobering Center has evolved to meet the needs of our community and become a national model for addressing substance use outside of the criminal justice system. People are now able to stay at the center while getting connected to treatment and receive medications to stabilize them while in our care. The center is known in the community for innovative problem solving and providing compassionate care to those using substances.
